Never thought that I will have this good life in US. I came to know about this people when I got a call from Prathima asking me to share the apartment. Later we are joined by Swetha, Satya, Vijaya Lakshmi. But the plans changed when we came here. So finally Prathima,Vijaya sree and I became roomies in APT# 18 of Pres Ave, called as mini India. It was an interesting and a funny moment when Potti Para joined the troop. Completely unknown to each other we all became close. Later we have shifted to Apt#33.... para becoming the other roomie....Press became the most happening place and perhaps I can never forget this beautiful place in my life. Then Kinnera joined this mad group in Summer....we became Mass from Class lol....And finally entrance to

Regional Feelings

"When we meet a person from different country we feel that He is not from our country...Traditions are different!!!!When we meet a person who is different from the part of your country like u meet a North Indian.......we end up He is not like a typical south Indian ....When we meet a person of different person not from the same part of south India...again comes there he is not like Andhra person...You meet a guy different from the region of the state....Your customs are different from ours ..U meet a person from different district.....ur so dominating compared to our district...u meet a person from a different part of city...u are different from our part...u meet a person from the same part butttttttttt we conclude u are different b'coz u were from diff caste... Oh my god if we meet a same person of our caste we come up with different reasoning....In this globalized world we are creating wonders with the developments in science...crossing seas...learning new cultures and dec

Blogging

Why do we blog? I didn't think about this until I was questioned by my friend. Yes why we do we blog....Hmmmmm...Very difficult to answer but definitely a good question which made me to investigate myself :P..... I wasn't aware of BLOG till last year. I came to know thru one of my friends when I visited her orkut profile and saw her favourite web page. Then I started exploring "BLOG SPOT". I loved the way they expressed their feelings. After rigorous exploration finally I came with my own. Whenever we watch a movie, read an article or experience a particular incident you will be left with an impression. You can't discuss with other people at that time(b'coz they might not be interested or they might be busy or something other). Then you can pen down ur feelings immediately (instead of wasting others time)....And what I feel is this is their own jahan where you can express yourself. I don't know whats the reason behind other peoples blogs but I feel that

CRY-UKY's KADAM

Image
KADAM -A SMALL STEP FOR A CHILD'S RIGHT..... On March 29th we organised last event of CRY- UKY for the year 2007-2008. Till last year there have been only car washes, walks and setting up of booths organised by CRY- UKY as part of fundraising events. KADAM added as a new baby for the Lexington chapter. Last year in May when we had meeting before car wash one of our most active volunteers( Harsha ) came up with an idea of CRY-NIGHT. Every one felt that it was a good idea but struggled for the proper time to implement that. Because during fall semester,ISA will have a big event called DIWALI DHOOM . Students will not afford for another event in the same semester. So the idea submerged. We conducted car wash which was a big success...we raised around 700$ and walmart people refused to match the amount as it was big :(. Then came CRY-WALK which was a failure (though we raised more amount thru donations). Every one felt like having CRY-NIGHT but at the same time pulled their hair fo

Meeting Dr.Kalam

Image
Wowwwwwwww its like a dream come true for me. I am a big fan of his and during my Engineering days I used to listen to his every Presidential addresses with out missing any one of them. Amma and Bhavani(my best friend of B.tech)are the big sufferers for my endless lectures about him. I never thought I can meet him and talk to him. In January I came to know about his visit, later we were asked to send the interested candidates names to perform for the event. I bugged my friends for our participation but none of them showed interest, so I personally sent my name to organisers. Later I got a call from them regarding audition. Then swe woke up from a dream and sort of begged me [:P] to convince those people to include hers. Finally both of us took part, met him personally and left with an unforgettable experience. I was on cloud nine that day and calling all the people and informing them about my achievement.Still its like a dream and I am questioning myself ...."Did I meet him?"

Busy Bee...

Dance practice...Fliers...Potluck...Compearing...Coding...etc...etc. This has been my schedule since last month. I am running like anything and now I am like a bird that has been just released from the cage. Last 4 weeks I have been in a state of fast forward mode.Dancing for Dr.A.P.J.Abdul Kalam program and then organising our CRY-UKY's KADAM its like a hectic schedule for me to maintain all these things. So I didn't get a chance to express my views on some of my memorable experiences that have been happening since a month. So I will post them one by one before my hibernation stage.(I want to sleep more,....want to watch movies...play and moreover want to gossip with my buddies which I have already started :P).

Coding and Coffee

Image
During my Engineering I have aversion against coding.I don't know the reason but I developed a bad feeling against it. This might be of my low grades in those subjects. That's one of the reasons behind my Masters. B'coz if I choose job I have to work in S/W. But to my surprise I have to do the same boring thing which I hated for years. Though it is signal processing I need to deal with that tiring job. I Have been working on my independent study where I need to write a code for the interface......working continuously for 6 months I didn't end up with any result but gained some other bad habits......one among them is Coffee. I have no habit of drinking coffee until my engineering. Even during B.tech I had it only occasionally. My sis is a coffee lover and she is always behind my mom poking her for a cup of coffee instead of milk. Immediatley I will be in that place in Budda's avatar preaching her the effects of it on health. Now I got addicted to it in such a way th

Passion For Dance

Image
Dance, the word itself makes me to move my legs and swing my body. But I didn't get a chance to learn any cultural dance during my childhood. My parents were always afraid that this might ruin my studies. One more thing was transportation.I go by school bus. Dance class used to be a bit early. If I want to attend the class my parents must drop me. As both of them are working they are busy to do that. As a result my passion to learn was submerged during my school days. I used to take part in the other programs like skits, mime shows and some times in small dances. But never performed a cultural one. So I always longed for one. After my school days I didn't get a chance to perform on stage. But my passion for dance woke up during masters. I started learning Zumba in the Recreation center. And again taking part in small programs. Now I am performing for one more program.During the practices I have a strange feeling when I watch little girls dancing. I remember my school days and I

Soldier

Kashmir Singh--Perhaps all the people who are aware of recent news might know this name. He will be released from prison in Pakistan after spending 35 dreadful years there. What crime did he commit? Did he kill any person?...No. Did he assault any one?..No.Did he go against law?...Yes he went against the law.But not against Indian Law....It was against Pakistan Law. He worked as a spy for India. After serving in the army for 6 years he was appointed as spy. And then he was arrested by Pakistan.Since then he was staying in that "DEAD CELL". Army people are those who sacrifice their life for country. Country is nothing but we the people. We spend a secure and luxurious life with no fears. On the other side these army people end up with misery and poverty. Kashmir Sing's wife has been working as a maid since the time he was arrested. Leaders will have no time for working on these issues like bringing them back or supporting their families. But they will have certainly time f

BHARATH RATNA

A prestigious award for an INDIAN .....Awarded for the highest degrees of national service. I think this is the award one can achieve in their life time, for their extraordinary services in any of their respective fields. Till date, all the people who received this award have dedicated their entire life for success and achievement in their respective fields. And now the race has started again with new nominees. But to my surprise(horror :P)I found MR.Lalu Prasad Yadav in the race. It seems that he must be awarded with this distinguished title for his extraordinary services to RAILWAYS. Railways was a loss making organisation before his appointment as minister and now it is credited with Profit making organisation. Well partly this is true. But I still wonder whether is this the required criteria for such a distinctive honor. HMMM if so then there must be many other nominees from all over INDIA to compete. Common people go ahead and nominate for your respective idols. You may be in pris

Death Sentence

One more criminal(Harish Rajput) sentenced to death by the court for his brutal crime(rape and murder of a ten year old school girl). This may not be a good judgement when we start seeing it from one side of a coin. But this seems to be a perfect punishment for the people who commit crimes like rapes and murders. Now again human rights comes in to the picture saying -Life is valuable and no one has right to end it. If so who gave the right to that person for ending the life of a small girl. When Dhanjay Chatterjee was sentenced to death some of the organisations started focusing on some other things like 'Family' indicating he is the only son, backward person etc, etc., But what happened to the girl's family? In what state they have been after loosing their little kid? How much pain and agony the child must have experienced before dying? Justice must be done to her family also. May be this act might not bring their child back. But at the same time this might teach a lesso
