The Magic of Innocence

Childhood is one of the precious stages of life where your soul is pure and free from egos. Everything you see and do is from the view of a brain which do not have a single spot of darkness. No wonder why children are sometimes considered God’s replica. My kids are no exception and when I have a chat or  hear  to their stories my heart fills with pure joy. Sometimes they make me chuckle, melt my heart or leave me dumbstruck. Here I want to capture some of those notes from my 4-year-old which came out of pure innocence. 1.        During summer of 2019 we visited  Wilstem  Ranch one of the places where kids will have educational encounters with few animals. After a tiring morning, kids are full of hunger and want to satisfy their appetite. I am trying to feed them as fast I can so that we can continue our next quest of the day. After a spoon or two my Strawberry-blueberry (Akshar’s new and favorite nick name since July 2019) sud...

This and That, Summer 2019!!!

Life has been getting busier. Having two kids who are 4 and under, life is more juggled. They need our constant attention, care and love. Though I barely get any time for myself or get any time to spend with Krishna, I am cherishing each moment. I feel my life filled with their bonding, mischiefs, tantrums and funniness. Makes you realize life is bitter-sweet. Akshar  had his first training camps this summer. It started with T ball, followed by Swimming and Skating classes. This Pre-Ker is enjoying all those classes though his concentration, focus is still developing. I was amazed  by the coach’s patience and zeal to train these little kids (4-6 year olds). It is fun to watch these little kids as they try to grasp the basics of each class and then try to repeat the newly acquired skills. Through the process they try to cheer, pick and congratulate each other. I noticed  Akshar  started moving away from the “Stranger-Danger” zone to “Comfort/Friendly” zone thi...

Eerie Silence

I am not a stranger to travelling alone on flights. But for the past 4+ years my travel is always with my two little munchkins.    I did take couple of work trips in domestic flights which are short and my colleagues were with me providing company. So when I started planning this trip to get  Saharsh  back to Columbus, I realized I have to travel alone one way. And I assumed I will enjoy that quiet time or me time. I am wrong and I realized it in the first leg of my flight. I hated each lonely moment, hated the silence since there is no crying or continuous chatter with never-ending questionnaire, hated when I ate my food where there are no spills or gulping, hated sleeping long without the little warm body touching me or disturbing me every 5 minutes, hated navigating easily through the layovers without hands full of luggage or restroom breaks, hated for not able to use the tiniest bathroom multiple times, hated when I was able to use bathroom pe...

Happy 4th Birthday Cookie Boy!!!

Image
Akshar is celebrating his 4 th birthday today. I can’t believe this little one is a Pre-Ker now. Where did the last 4 precious years go and feel the clock is ticking too fast? I am one of those greedy mommies who wish for an extra 5 minutes at the end of each day to spend more time with their little ones. I still remember his first cry after taking him out of my womb. And then his big eyes made me fell in love with him instantaneously. I had a rough pregnancy because of a prior loss. As a result, every day was a challenge in that 9 months. To add it up, Akshar’s dad traveled for his job out of town every week and my dad has been diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma in my first trimester. In those days it will be surprising for me if I don’t experience a panic attack frequently. All these masked my personality in a way throughout the pregnancy. But this little one’s entry did bring lot of joyous moods and changes in our lives. Akshar helped me in looking the world through his innocen...

One of Akshar’s favorite desserts is gulab jamoon and he has been constantly requesting me for this laddo(anything round it is laddoo in our home 😉 ). I bought air fryer few months back which resulted in upping my cooking experiments. I wanted to try gulab jamoons in air fryer instead of oil to make the dish healthy. Well half healthy because I still used sugar syrup normal. But this experiment turned out to be disastrous(according to me) and the result can be seen below. I was embarrassed on the outcome and shyly showed the above result to him. To my surprise his face lit up and he wanted to eat it immediately. I was not happy but still went ahead and served this disaster in his favorite mickey bowl. As he pushed his fork in to the brownish blackish ball my heart beat in high rate. I was biting my nails(in my head) and eagerly waiting for the verdict. Lot of thoughts ran in my head and was calculating low how much he will be dissatisfied with the taste. I almost looked lik...

Wrap up 2018!

Wrap up 2018! As year comes to an end it is good to reflect and see how the year has progressed.  May be its full of good memories or taught you some life lessons or experiences to further improve yourself.  It can be anything but it is always good to look back and analyze all those. Until few years back I am not a big fan of these kind of things and just skimmed thinking it as another year. It is after starting my self evaluations at work I realized a need for it to do in my personal life too. Professional self evaluations made me understand the weak zones and prompted for the improvement. At the same time it patted me for all the achievements. That spirit helped me to approach the failures with positivity. Personally, this is a little troubled year but like the fictitious bird Phoenix, I surpassed each obstacle and reshaped myself from each one of it. Sometimes we make bad decisions that will end up with a result that is not desired and sometimes that will be unnoti...

Little Musings

Image
Motive to restart my blog is not only to improve my writing skills but also wants to have a platform that can serve as memoir for the kids. They can learn how the things are when they are growing up, what Amma bragged or cared and to keep them informed on their witty events while growing up. I don’t think I will remember each and every naughty thing they are doing now. Bazingaa… whos memory is going to be like that? Can any one narrate 20 years of past life. AAaah may be some but definitely not all of them. Probably Sheldon Cooper also not, right? Below conversation belongs to this category. I did not change my last name after wedding. I am one among the few new genx women who prefers not to. There are couple of motives behind this complicated decision. 1.       Lot of legal things involved. Since I came to USA prior to wedding and lot of IDs are tied up with my maiden name. And this list includes but not limited to.. passport, DL, SSN, Bank account...

To my little angel.

For the last few days there has been extensive coverage on the death and funeral of George. H.W. Bush, the 41 st president who died on November 30 th 2018. He was not only 41st President of USA but also loving and caring family man. In all those tributes what caught my attention is his never-ending love to his 3 year old daughter who died of Leukemia 65 years ago. Seems the Sr. Bush couple always remember her and cherished those 3 years they spent caring for their daughter. And after 5 kids and many grand kids/ great grand kids they still felt her space cannot be replaced. This gives an example every child has an unique place in their parent’s heart. My first baby did not make it beyond 20 weeks and passed away prematurely. This happened 5 years back and after that I had two successful pregnancies that ended up with two beautiful kids. They make me cry, chuckle and be grateful. But somewhere deep in my heart I always cry for that little one who did not make in to this world....

Summer 2018!!!

At the beginning of the year like rest of the “New Year Resolution” Folks I promised myself I will have a new hobby learnt this year. I aspired to run Half Marathon. But after few months that went behind and a new goal popped up. VEGETABLE GARDENING!    This is the first year we tried community gardening. Its also the first year of growing vegetables (I don’t think tiny backyard vegetables we grew in the last few years counts). Though I am kind of not happy with missing marathon, I am happy to be part of Summer garden. It was fun getting hands dirty, knowing where the food is coming from (definitely not from supermarket like how my 3 year old interpreted till now) and developing this new hobby. Out of no where one day during April, I got this adrenaline rush of joining community garden club. Within few days I am standing at the city hall filling the application for land rental. After that it was kind of whirlwind ride with the garden. Some weekends were tir...

Reflections...

As my alarm snoozes 3rd time at 5.40AM, I realize it’s time for me to get out of the covers and make me prep for the busy day. I will not be able to get back to my darling bed for 17 more hours. I should say 17 hours of multi-tasking various things between work, kids and home. Staying in US for 12 years with approximate 8 years of automotive career granted me few perks (machine dependency) but at the same time did not free me up from doing daily chores.(Yeah women still has to take sole responsibility of certain things at home though she is working full time, sick or simply tired). Sometimes that makes me feel I am caught up in this maze forever. At the same time people who look at me feel I am a super woman who can command others fierce fully at work, hop on to a semi-truck which looks like a beast and make it function correctly, cook three hot meals daily, make things run smoothly for home, organize fancy parties and at the same time attach machines to my body for feeding infant w...
